Part II: Fabulous DIY Favors

I had no problems choosing my wedding favors. I am obsessed with {Bouchon Bakery} and Macarons so it was clear that I wanted to send my guests home with a small gift that shared something so near and dear to my heart. Take the guessing work out of picking the perfect favor for your wedding by simply asking yourself what small item do you absolutely adore, and simply share that with your friends and family.
After treating my guests to a spectacular nine-course gastronomic reception, I wanted to make sure the favors they took home were reminiscent of the salivating experience they’ve just had. With that in mind, I worked with Bouchon’s talented pastry chef to create 6 truly unique flavors that highlighted my favorite treats and heritage. We had: Jasmine (an ode to my Thai roots), Peanut Butter with Concord Grape Jam, Green Tea with Red Bean Filling, Pumpkin Pie, Green Apple and Caramel, and Chocolate Cake with Red Velvet Icing. Yum! As with most bulk orders for gifts like wedding or shower favors, vendors are usually happy to work with you on customizing the smallest of details – take full advantage of that!
{Bouchon Bakery} provided the same clear rectangular boxes they packaged their usual Macaron gift sets in but I wanted to take it a step further and personalize them. So I created some tags that echoed the look and feel of my other wedding details. My maid-of-honor and I designed tags that were actually two layers of punched out paper in contrasting colors. The top was created using chocolate brown paper with a silver stamped “thanks.” on it, and the bottom layer was white with a special wedding-phrases stamp design in chocolate ink. We affixed the two tags together with nickel-hued eyelets so the layers could spread apart and be displayed in full. We then used a thin silky, rich-chocolate ribbon to tie the tags around each favor box.
The result: A deeply personal gift that included the blood, tears and sweat of one creative bride and her maid-of-honor (I am not even joking, my MOH and I both suffered serious paper cuts, stamping and paper-punching cramps and even hammering mishaps while fastening the eyelets!) ~Wanwisa

Wow!!! I am in love with those perfect packages of macarons! Beautiful job!
I love these favors, they are vibrant and stunning! I feel for you on the paper cuts though. I'm helping with over 150 wedding box chair favors. I'll be happy when they are finally done, but your right the final result makes it all worth it!
Great Blog!
