When we first saw Wanwisa's phenomenal wedding on {Style Me Pretty}, we had to know more! She has a beautiful blog and has journaled every detail of her incredible big day {HERE}. You will hearing a lot more from the new Mrs. Posner around here--she is now an honorary Bliss Girl and our guest blogger this week! Without further ado, the fabulous Wanwisa Posner~

When I faced the task of designing my own wedding-day paper essentials like my ceremony programs and reception menu, I looked to my invitation suite for inspiration. I wanted all of my wedding paper details to work harmoniously together for my big day, but I also wanted them to each have a unique quality. For instance, to give a more casual feel to my save-the-dates, {Cheree Berry}, my invitation designer, and I decided to do a casual flat-print card instead of the more formal look we went for with my letterpress invitations. When it came time to come up with a design for my programs, I wanted something very different and fun.
As I was flipping through an array of wedding magazine tear sheets, I came across a poster-style program featured in one of the 2006 issues of {Martha Stewart Weddings} and fell in love. A light bulb went off in my head as I stared at my invitation suite while trying to figure out how I could translate the look and style of my invitations to my poster programs. I loved the taxi motif Cheree used for my return address design and thought it would be great to be able to reuse that motif for my NYC-inspired wedding.
With the help of a close friend (one of the designers and partners of {Spoon and Fork Studios}) I was able to create the perfect program using a jpeg image of the taxi motif Cheree had used. I ended up using this motif for my reception menu as well as my rehearsal brunch menu and, in each instance, the looks were very unique from one another but worked seamlessly together like a well-orchestrated symphony.
Motifs, just like a monogram, can be used over and over again to lend a hand at creating a flawless event. Have them printed on gift tags that can hang from favor boxes, petal cones, cocktail napkins and label stickers for various uses. However, unlike monograms that can sometimes be overwhelming when they appear on everything at a wedding, motifs like a starfish for a beach wedding or a compass rose for a travel-theme event, add a nice discreet and personal touch. ~Wanwisa
